Both Cruise Connect and Sailday are built with your safety and privacy as our top priorities. Here's how we protect you:

Data Protection: All your data is encrypted in transit and at rest using secure Firebase backend infrastructure. We perform regular security updates, never sell your data to third parties, and maintain strict data protection protocols across both apps. Your information is stored securely and privately, accessible only to you and our moderation team when necessary for safety purposes.

Privacy First: We believe in minimal data collection and maximum privacy. Neither app tracks your location without permission, and we don't require social media integration. Your personal information—including cruise plans, messages, and activity—stays private. For Cruise Connect, we limit visible personal information to display names, verification badges, and cruise details only. Sensitive information like emails, phone numbers, and addresses are never displayed to other users. For Sailday, all your countdown timers, packing lists, duck logs, and cabin information remain completely private to your account.

Account Security: Both apps feature secure authentication systems with password protection. You can delete your account at any time, and data export is available on request. We recommend using strong, unique passwords and keeping your login credentials secure.

Age-Appropriate Safety (Cruise Connect): Cruise Connect is exclusively for teens aged 13-17 and includes robust age verification and safety features. Parental email verification is required with a green badge system, and optional in-person verification provides a gold star badge for added trust. The app automatically enforces age-out at 18, locking accounts immediately when users turn 18 and deleting data after 30 days. Content moderation includes automated censoring of inappropriate language, a flagged content system monitored by admins, and message and profile reporting tools. Users can block others with mutual invisibility and real-time updates, while admin oversight monitors all moderation activities and receives block notifications. Past cruise data is automatically deleted 5 days after cruise completion to protect privacy.

Safe for All Ages (Sailday): Sailday is a family-friendly app suitable for cruisers of all ages. It contains no user-generated public content, no chat or messaging features, and only stores your private personal data. All information you enter—countdowns, packing lists, duck logs, cabin details—is for your use only and not shared with anyone.

Parental Oversight (Cruise Connect): Parents play an active role in their teen's safety on Cruise Connect. Parental consent is required for all verification levels through email approval. For in-person verification, parents receive notification emails with clear objection instructions, allowing them to prevent verification if they're uncomfortable. Parents can contact our support team at any time with concerns, and we respond promptly to all safety inquiries.

Content & Community Standards (Cruise Connect): We maintain strict community guidelines prohibiting harassment, bullying, inappropriate content, sharing personal contact information, impersonation, and spam. Violations result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans depending on severity. Our admin team actively monitors reported content and takes swift action against policy violations.

Support & Reporting: Both apps feature responsive support teams ready to help with any concerns. Cruise Connect includes in-app reporting tools for messages and profiles, while both apps offer email support for any safety or security issues. Bug reporting systems ensure technical problems are addressed quickly, and we welcome all feedback to continuously improve safety features.
